WELCOME TO THE COUGAR BAND FAMILY

Mr. Rosen is honored to serve with the Coronado High School team as the Director of Bands. After graduating with his degree in Music Education from Michigan State University in 2007, Mr. Rosen pursued a career in music performance. After touring the world with his wife Anna performing in the orchestras with various Broadway musicals, Mr. Rosen is thrilled to bring his passion for music to Colorado Springs. His experience includes teaching students of all ages, at a wide range of schools in Colorado, and in a variety of styles and settings.

Mr. Rosen had the honor of studying under some of the most respected teachers and conductors in Michigan, including MSU faculty John Madden and Jonathan Reed. He studied music pedagogy with Mitchell Robinson, who helped him to approach music learning as a lifelong endeavor that can be inclusive for any individual. He refined his performance craft with Richard Sherman and Andre Pidkivka, teaching him the most advanced performance techniques. Of course, Mr. Rosen wouldn’t be where he is today without the incredible inspiration of his former high school band directors, Carl Gippert and Jason Lowe.

Mr. Rosen had the honor of performing musical theater across the globe with his wife Anna as part of the orchestra for the international tour of Beauty and the Beast, taking them to Asia, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. Other musical highlights include the pre-Broadway debut of Frozen at the Denver Center in 2017, an original production of Oklahoma! in 2018, and A Little Night Music at the Denver Center in 2023.

Although music is what gets him out of bed in the morning, Mr. Rosen also loves Dungeons and Dragons, hiking, and most importantly spending time with family.  In addition to his wife Anna, he has four fantastic daughters, Elara, Zelda, Leah, and Liliana, and one fur baby named Kira. Mr. Rosen couldn’t be more excited to step into this incredible opportunity that awaits him at Coronado and has great hopes for what the future holds for this exceptional music program
