Character, Service, Leadership, and Scholarship
The NHS program empowers and equips your students with the knowledge and skills to be transformative leaders in your school, community, and beyond. In addition, it provides a necessary bridge between students and school leaders—helping you to engage and hear what students think, feel, and need.
Invitations to apply are sent to sophomores through seniors who have a 3.5 cumulative GPA or higher in September, and those members selected are welcomed at the induction ceremony in October. Dues are $10 per year for new and returning members, except for seniors who are inducted during their senior year. Dues are $20 for those seniors to help pay for the graduation stoles. Meetings are held once a month before school to discuss membership requirements and to coordinate service projects. Members are required to complete one NHS-sponsored service project per quarter. There are multiple options because no one project requires our full 70+ member group.
